Looking Back on 2020

12/7/2020

Many people don't want to remember 2020, and for the most part, we don't blame them. For all the misery it brought, though, 2020 was an eventful year. From the pandemic, to the Black Lives Matter protests, to the Presidential election, it likely changed our society -- and journalism -- forever. Leaf-Chronicle Sports Writer George Robinson joined me to talk about that fact, and reflect on all that happened this year.

The Fancy Farm Picnic is famous for three things: Bingo, political speeches with raucous crowds and barbecue as far as the eye can see. Thanks to COVID-19, however, two out of three won't happen. (At the barbecue is still there.) Matt talks with Mayfield Messenger Editor Eric Walker about the picnic's history and the impact of its diminished status this year.
